New Vanguard® 400 EFI/ETC Engine Featured on Digging Deeper Podcast

MILWAUKEE (March 30, 2022) — Chris Meyers, product manager at Briggs & Stratton, recently appeared on an episode of ForConstructionPros’ Digging Deeper podcast. In the conversation, Meyers highlighted the Vanguard® 400 EFI/ETC engine, which officially launches this coming summer.

Unveiled at World of Concrete, the 400 EFI/ETC engine leverages electronic fuel injection (EFI) and ETC (electronic throttle control) technology that will create efficiencies and reduce downtime for applications within the construction, agriculture, landscape and recreation equipment markets.

Meyers explains how Vanguard is pushing the market forward by combining the two complementary technologies into one engine package. In the discussion, Meyers also calls out a feature unique to the EFI/ETC technology from Vanguard — it doesn’t require an onboard battery to start the electronic components. Instead, the engine is able to produce enough electricity during rope start to power the electronics, eliminating the need to add a battery to applications that often don’t have room to accommodate one.

Listen to the full conversation to learn more about the features of the Vanguard 400 EFI/ETC, hear an example of how the technology would benefit an application like a walk-behind concrete saw, and discover how Vanguard is committed to staying ahead of the innovation curve for its customers.
