Once a returned battery arrives at Vanguard’s U.S. facility, it goes through a multi-stage evaluation process:

1. Inspection for Second-Life Applications
Every returned battery is first inspected to see if it can be repurposed for a second-life application. This extends its useful life in a less demanding environment, such as in energy storage systems, before it’s ever recycled.

2. Disassembly and Material Recovery

If a second life isn’t possible, the battery enters the disassembly and recycling phase. Vanguard’s battery packs are designed for easy recyclability featuring modular designs and die-cast aluminum housings.
