Vanguard® Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Powers the New All-Electric Buggy From Allen Engineering

MILWAUKEE (June 8, 2021) – Briggs & Stratton is excited to partner with Allen Engineering Corporation in powering the all-new AW16-B battery-powered buggy designed specifically for projects or jobsites where reduced emissions are needed. This partnership developed from Vanguard’s existing relationship with Kraft Fluid Systems, Inc., one of the first technology partners signed on as a distributor of Vanguard Commercial Lithium-Ion Battery Packs. Visitors to the 2021 World of Concrete show can see this fully electric buggy that is the most durable and versatile battery-powered design on the market.

“Providing electric-powered equipment options is a must in today’s world,” said Chris Davison, Briggs & Stratton senior marketing manager, commercial power. “Allen Engineering understands that need, and we are proud to work with them to offer their customers a powerful, durable and reliable electric buggy that meets their application needs and eliminates emission concerns.”

The AW16-B wheeled buggy is equipped with a Vanguard 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack that allows it to reach eight- to nine-hour run times. Among the Allen Engineering buggy lineup, this model is the only fully electric option. The buggy also features a limited-slip transaxle that provides more mobility than other similar models. And operators can feel safe with the dynamic electric brake that doesn’t allow the buggy to move unless the throttle is engaged.

Along with buggies, Allen Engineering provides products and equipment for concrete placing, finishing, polishing and paving. It operates as a fully integrated equipment designer and manufacturer for the Allen® concrete and related equipment, and also does concrete contractor work for commercial and infrastructure applications. With over 50 years of experience in the concrete industry, the family-owned and -operated business is an established figure in the concrete industry worldwide.

The Vanguard 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack that is featured in the AW16-B buggy is one of the batteries offered in the lineup of 3.8kWh, 5kWh and 10kWh models. These battery packs offer a durable and scalable power solution, with the protective outer material and capacity to connect them in parallel for increased power.
