Ideal for simple replacement
Quick and easy drop-fit solution for the most popular engines in the market possible. Repower with Vanguard!

Simplified 3-Step Starting
The new optimized 3-step starting process allows for shorter rope pull with less pull force required. Tested down to -29°C to ensure easier starting in all temperatures.
Eliminate Fuel/Oil Dilution
Exclusive TransportGuard™ System guards against unnecessary oil wastage, equipment downtime and reduced productivity. By simply turning the 3-in-1 control to the STOP position, the engine ignition and fuel supply are shut-off simultaneously — resolving the number one rental equipment return issue.
Optimized Fuel Management
Specially designed fuel system and Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) improve resistance to effects of stale fuel.
Outperforms in All Terrains
The optional High Inclination Package allows your equipment to perform where others can't. Vanguard engines operate smoothly on inclines of up to 45 degrees** in any direction, giving you a distinct competitive advantage.
Easy Service
Easy maintenance with the Briggs & Stratton EFI diagnostic tool reduces downtime. Featuring CAN J1939 protocol for seamless engine diagnostics and integration.

Fewer Air Filter Changes
Lower total cost of ownership from unmatched 600-hour air filter replacement intervals — double the industry standard — thanks to cyclonic air filtration, standard on all Vanguard single cylinder engines.
Reduced Noise and Vibration
Significantly lower noise and vibration level increases operator comfort for improved productivity.
More Efficient Power Management
Governed idle allows more usable power at idle, precise speed setting and better load response.
Longer Oil Maintenance Intervals
Engine oil maintenance intervals are double the industry standard — lowering total cost of ownership. Your equipment uptime is increased while maintenance costs and associated downtime are reduced. Additional up to 50% less oil wastage* lowers recycling expenses.
Advanced Engine Protection
Oil sensor protects the engine from low oil level conditions.
Zero Overhang Muffler (Optional)

Power Curve

14.0 HP GROSS POWER*
* Power Ratings: The gross power rating for individual gasoline engine models is labelled in accordance with SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) code J1940 Small Engine Power & Torque Rating Procedure, and is rated in accordance with SAE J1995. Torque values are derived at 2600 RPM for those engines with "rpm" called out on the label and 3060 for all others; horsepower values are derived at 3600 RPM. The gross power curves can be viewed at www.briggsandstratton.com. Net power values are taken with exhaust and air cleaner installed whereas gross power values are collected without these attachments. Actual gross engine power will be higher than net engine power and is affected by, among other things, ambient operating conditions and engine-to-engine variability. Given the wide array of products on which engines are placed, the gasoline engine may not develop the rated gross power when used in a given piece of power equipment. This difference is due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to.the variety of engine components (air cleaner, exhaust. charging, cooling, carburettor. fuel pump, etc.), application limitations, ambient operating conditions (temperature, humidity, altitude), and engine-to-engine variability. Due to manufacturing and capacity limitations, Briggs & Stratton may substitute an engine of higher rated power for this engine.
