BY EXPANDING ITS FLEET OF VANGUARD®-POWERED UNITS, BOELS RENTAL CONTINUES TO DELIVER INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR CUSTOMERS

Freienbach, Switzerland (September 8, 2021) – Boels Rental continues to specify Vanguard engines in its fleet by adding the Ammann APF 15/40 forward-moving vibratory plate compactors fitted with a Vanguard® 160 single-cylinder, 3.7 gross kW* (5 HP) engine. “Our experience with these new-generation Vanguard engines in our construction and forestry fleet is excellent and helps us achieve our innovation and environmental goals,” said Guy Cremer, Director of Fleet Operations.

With the new addition, Netherlands-based Boels strengthens its collaboration with Briggs & Stratton to deliver innovative and reliable power solutions to the rental market. The Vanguard single-cylinder engines were built from the ground up to help improve equipment performance and user experience, while reducing the environmental impact and total cost of ownership**. The 160 engine delivers more durable performance, greater user comfort and easier starting just like its sibling the 200, which is already being used in Boels Rental equipment.

“We introduced the Vanguard 200 engine to our fleet in Benassi turf cutters and tillers in 2019,” explained Guy Cremer. “This has allowed us to cut equipment service intervals almost by half and decrease our oil wastage and recycling considerably, reducing the environmental impact of our fleet. The engine’s TransportGuard technology has also resolved a common rental problem: customers forgetting to shut off the fuel during transport. We’ve experienced fewer unscheduled oil changes and our equipment is ready to rent when customers need it, increasing our ROI.”

Easy handling, for challenging materials and environments
The Vanguard-powered APF 15/40 compactor plate will provide clear value for Boels’ customers, said Cremer. “It’s a perfect allrounder for soil, asphalt, and paving stone compaction, plus it is easy to operate. For us, the extended service intervals of the engine will help us reduce our oil waste and recycling further.”

Patrick Stellwag, Key Account Manager Rental at Ammann Group commented: “We’re always looking for additional ways to support our customers’ by delivering innovation that helps them achieve their business goals. The Vanguard 200 engine has proven to complement our compactors perfectly, and we’re confident the 160 model will do the same.”

Paul Bramhall, Director Marketing EMEA – engines and power at Briggs & Stratton, highlighted: “We are grateful for the trust that Boels and Ammann place in our engines, and for the opportunity to power more of their equipment with power solutions that help reduce the environmental impact of rental fleet.”
