MILWAUKEE (November 10, 2021) – Carissa Gingras, Senior Director of Marketing at Briggs & Stratton, caught up with Dormie Roberts of Green Industry Pros at this year’s GIE+EXPO and provided a preview of some exciting Vanguard® product updates, including the CXi Series V-Twin engine, the Oil Guard™ System and the Vanguard 400 EFI/ETC engine.
The CXi Series V-Twin engine, which launches in 2022, incorporates a low-maintenance package featuring Oil Xtend Technology, which will allow for 250-hour maintenance intervals — 2.5 times the industry standard.
Gingras also walked Green Industry Pros through the Vanguard Oil Guard System, a revolutionary innovation that helps improve productivity by making oil changes cleaner, faster and easier. With a six-quart external reservoir and aluminum housing designed for cooling, Oil Guard enables 500 hours between oil changes – five times the industry standard – so users can be out in the field longer.
Finally, Gingras highlighted an engine perfect for commercial contractors – the Vanguard 400 EFI/ETC horizontal shaft commercial gasoline engine. This newest addition is the most powerful EFI/ETC engine in the Vanguard single-cylinder lineup. The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system means that operators can count on smooth and consistent power regardless of load size or type of terrain they encounter. The Vanguard 400 EFI/ETC features battery-free starting, unlike most fuel-injected engines, which eliminates the bulk, weight and maintenance of a battery on board.
