Vanguard® 10kWh Commercial Battery Named One of Equipment Today’s 2022 Contractors’ Top 50 New Products

Equipment Today magazine and ForConstructionPros.com, both nationally recognized publications serving the commercial construction industry, have named the Vanguard® 10kWh* Commercial Battery as one of the 2022 Contractors’ Top 50 New Products. The Contractors’ Top 50 New Products list showcases the new equipment and products that construction equipment owners and end users identify as the most interesting and intriguing.

“We are thrilled to have the 10kWh Commercial Battery selected as one of the Contractors’ Top 50 New Products,” says Chris Davison, senior marketing manager, Electrification at Briggs & Stratton. “We designed the 10kWh Commercial Battery to deliver a powerful, tough performance that construction equipment owners and users can depend on to get the job done.”

Recipients of the awards are determined based on pageviews and inquiries on the ForConstructionPros.com web portal related to new units featured in the magazine over a 12-month period. Each manufacturer is able to receive only one award, so the winning products represent the single highest-ranking product for each company over the specified timeframe. The winners are grouped into categories based on product type or application.

As the largest of the Vanguard Lithium-Ion solutions, the 10kWh Commercial Battery delivers up to 100 kWh of energy when paralleled with 10 other Vanguard packs. Featuring a steel roll-cage design, the 10kWh pack provides maximum protection and has been engineered to withstand extreme temperatures, impact, vibration, moisture and dirt. And the pack’s Battery Management System (BMS) constantly monitors and measures the pack’s temperature, charge and discharge currents and voltages of each individual cell bank to ensure a safer battery option.

The 10kWh pack also features smart technology that is able to track the battery’s power and energy utilization and state of health. Customers can log this information and use it to make informed decisions on their operations. This helps customers get the best possible return on investment (ROI) by achieving their lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) while improving their processes, becoming more efficient and bolstering their bottom line.

The customized battery pack, BMS and charger work seamlessly together to deliver efficient power and performance. The battery pack also features two customizable CANbus networks that integrate with legacy systems, and a prequalified and plug-in-ready sharing system can be mounted on- or off-board. OEMs can count on uncomplicated integration with any equipment and the ability to service all components — allowing it to be repaired instead of replaced.

Designed for longevity and convenience, the battery requires virtually no scheduled maintenance for up to 2,000 cycles. Vanguard batteries come with the service and support of a three-year commercial limited warranty and are backed by the vast Briggs & Stratton dealer network.
