Vanguard has partnered with Bonsai Robotics to power its new Amiga Max farming robot with the Vanguard™ 48V 7kWh Commercial Battery Pack (Fi7.0).
The Amiga Max is a compact, heavy-duty agricultural robot engineered for complex field operations across bedded crops, row crops, orchards and greenhouses. Equipped with all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and high-clearance architecture, the robot handles demanding tasks that include spraying, towing up to 8,000 lbs and hauling up to 3,000 lbs. It operates autonomously using proprietary AI called Bonsai Intelligence that enhances productivity, safety and operational efficiency.
To deliver dependable, zero-emission performance per charge, the Amiga Max relies on the Vanguard Fi7.0 in its long configuration, allowing for an optimal fit within the machine’s low-profile chassis.
Engineered for heavy-duty commercial applications, the Vanguard Fi7.0 is available in tall and long configurations to maximize design flexibility for OEMs. The battery pack features a durable diecast casing that protects internal Cell Module Assemblies against extreme vibration, impact, dust and dirt. It also includes an integrated Battery Management System that continuously monitors voltage and temperature, as well as CANbus J1939 communication for seamless integration. The pack requires zero maintenance, delivers a 2,000-cycle lifespan backed by an eight-year commercial limited warranty, and is designed, engineered and assembled in the USA.
“Partnering with Bonsai Robotics allows us to bring commercial electrification and field-proven autonomy together to solve real-world agricultural challenges,” said David Frank, senior vice president and president of electrification at Briggs & Stratton. “By working closely with their engineering teams and offering flexible configurations like our Fi7.0 long-form battery pack, we can help OEMs seamlessly integrate commercial-grade power into uniquely engineered chassis. Equip Expo attendees will get a firsthand look at what happens when cutting-edge robotics meets rugged electrification.”
Attendees can see the Vanguard-powered Amiga Max at Equip Expo 2026, held October 21–23 in Louisville, Kentucky. The machine will be showcased in the Outdoor Demo Area at the Briggs & Stratton booth #6480D.
