MILWAUKEE (October 06, 2021) – In the latest podcast episode from Diesel Progress, listeners gain insight into all things electrification as editor Mike Brezonick interviews David Frank, Global Vice President of Commercial Sales for Engines and Batteries at Briggs & Stratton.
Briggs & Stratton first announced the addition of the Vanguard Lithium-Ion Commercial Battery Packs back in 2019 which, according to Brezonick, was a “gutsy move for an engine manufacturer.” But Frank says they knew electrification was coming. It was a chance for Vanguard to not only be a part of the change, but be a pioneer in it. Frank also notes that the addition of battery technology has never been about replacing engines, but about providing an option to OEMs and partners that rely on Briggs & Stratton as power application experts.
Another thing Frank highlighted was the transition to electrification a lot of OEMs are facing, and how Briggs & Stratton can be a resource to those that are making that switch. Briggs & Stratton has 110 years of experience in power and how to apply it, so Frank’s hope is that this expertise is utilized to help bring OEMs success in their electrification efforts.
